KURDISTAN
The Turkish state is pursuing a targeted policy of displacement in northern Iraq to permanently occupy KRI territories. Dozens of villages in northern Iraq have been forcibly evacuated to make way for the Turkish military.
Protests have been taking place in Siirt since the removal of the democratically elected co-mayors and appointment of a trustee in their place. People call on the government to reverse the decision.
HPG reported that guerrillas forces carried out dozens of actions in response to the Turkish operations and attacks in various parts of the Kurdistan territory during the month of January.
The YJA STAR and HPG guerrillas, along with the people, saluted the historic resistance carried out by the YPJ and YPG (People's Defence Units) fighters at the Tishrin Dam.
