KCK calls for the beginning of a new period with the Girê Spî victory

KCK called upon all peoples in Syria to initiate a new period and strengthen peoples’ joint struggle in order to establish a democratic Syria that would then democratize the entire Middle East.

KCK called upon all peoples in Syria to initiate a new period and strengthen peoples’ joint struggle in order to establish a democratic Syria that would then democratize the entire Middle East.

In its written statement on the liberation of Girê Spî (Tel Abyad), KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency called upon all peoples in Syria to initiate a new period and strengthen peoples’ joint struggle in order to establish a democratic Syria that would then democratize the entire Middle East.

In its statement, KCK described the liberation of Girê Spî (Tel Abyad) as the victory of not only Rojava revolutionaries but of all peoples in Syria. KCK commemorated revolutionary martyrs with respect and congratulated the forces of YPG-YPJ and Burkan El Fırat for their success. KCK added that this success would be complete with the establishment of a democratic Syria.

‘UNION OF NOT ONLY THE CANTONS BUT OF SYRIAN PEOPLES’

KCK stated that the victory was a union of not only the two cantons but of all peoples in Syria. KCK emphasized that Girê Spî would be jointly administered by Arab, Kurdish, Assyrian and Turkmen people, and described this administration as the model of Democratic Syria. KCK stated that this joint administration model is framed by the principle of Democratic Nation, and its establishment is confirmed by the statements of YPG-YPJ commanders.

‘TURKISH STATE SUPPORTED ISIS IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY’

KCK described the Turkish state’s grief at the liberation of Girê Spî by Rojava Revolutionary Forces as the confession of its alliance with ISIS, under which the Turkish state gave fighters, military equipments and logistical support to the gangs. KCK said that the Turkish state’s Kurdphobia made it the biggest ally of ISIS, and AKP government’s political gridlock in the Middle East is caused by this attitude. KCK pointed out that the Turkish state could not implement positive policies inside and outside Turkey without abandoning its Kurdphobia.

KCK emphasized the AKP government’s silence on Kurds’ forced migration caused by ISIS, and described the attempts to blame PYD for civilian refugees escaping ISIS attempts to use civilians as human shields as a hypocrisy that aims to hide the Turkish state’s crimes. KCK assured the public that people’s sisterhood under the principles of democratic nation and joint administration would be established everyone who is guided by Leader Apo’s framework. KCK described the policies of ‘one state, one nation, one country and one flag’ as the characteristic of Erdoğan and AKP government, which was defeated by Rojava Revolutionaries in their victory against ISIS.

‘THIS VICTORY IS THE BEGINNING OF AN END TO ISIS BIGOTRY’

KCK highlighted that the liberation of Girê Spî made Kobanê resistance more meaningful and complete. KCK Co-Presidency stated that the victory in Girê Spî belonged to all peoples from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, as well as internationalist revolutionaries who have lost their lives during Rojava Revolution. KCK described the victory as the beginning of an end to ISIS bigotry and the success of the revolution in Syria.

‘KURDS ARE SERIOUSLY CONCERNED BY THE TURKISH STATE’S ROJAVA AND SYRIA POLICIES’

KCK underlined that Kurds are seriously concerned by the Turkish state’s Rojava and Syria policies, and recalled the backlash at Tayyip Erdoğan’s statements anticipating the fall of Kobanê. KCK stated that Turkey could not make peace with Kurds with this mentality, and a true peace process would require the abandoning of Kurdphobia. KCK criticized the Turkish state’s lack of concern for Kurds who had fled places such as Kobanê and Girê Spî, and stated that the officials’ selective concern for a few Turkmen villages is a reflection of the state’s Kurdphobia.

KCK emphasized that the rhetoric of “Kurds and Turks are siblings, we cannot be separated” will remain to be unconvincing as long as the Turkish state’s Kurdphobic mentality continues. KCK invited the Turkish state to abandon its mentality and help establish peace and people’s sisterhood under the guidance of Democratic Nation principles in order to end the political gridlock in the Middle East.

‘WE CALL FOR THE BEGINNING OF A NEW PERIOD’

“Turkey and Turkish people will benefit the most if they can see the dangers of the state’s cooperation with ISIS and adopt the Kurdish Freedom Movement’s Democratic Nation solution. Turkey must make peace with Rojava Revolution and initiate a new political period inside and outside its borders", KCK Co-Presidency said and called upon all peoples in Syria to support the victory of Girê Spî in particular and the Rojava Revolution in general. "Coming together within the framework of Democratic Nation principles will strengthen peoples’ joint struggle and establish a democratic Syria which would then democratize the entire Middle East", the statement added.
