Liberation of Girê Spî by YPG/YPJ from ISIS has been marked with celebrations across the Kurdistan territory, including the Martyr Rüstem Refugee Camp in Maxmur where youth's movement held an event in support of the historic victory in West Kurdistan, Rojava.
The Refugee Camp in Maxmur had also been targeted by an expansive attack of ISIS gangs last August. A joint defense by HPG guerrillas, Maxmur militia and peshmerga forces, however, forced the gangs to retreat from the region after suffering heavy losses in the hands of Kurdish forces.
