Syriac Union Party Cizîrê Canton member Gabriel Shamon stated that the HDP's election victory has obstructed the monist policies of the AKP government, and that the resolution process could be kept going only with the HDP.

'FREEDOM OF THE KURDISH LEADER WILL BRING ALONG THE FREEDOM OF PEOPLES'

Gabriel Shamon who spoke to ANF stressed that; "Freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and for those who left a mark in history is a permanent demand of ours. Leader Apo – referring to Öcalan- has enabled the freedom of his people with his philosophy. Freedom of the Leader will also bring along the freedom of peoples."

Shamon remarked that the success of the HDP in Turkey has also revived the people's hope for freedom and created a hope for the freedom of the Kurdish leader.

Underlining that the process of resolution in Turkey cannot progress without the HDP, Shamon said; "We participated the elections alongside the HDP as a group. Besides Kurds, Armenians, Syriacs and Arabs have also entered the Parliament. The founding of the HDP has also created a hope for the resolution of the Kurdish question on the basis of the fraternity of peoples. In line with the political work of the HDP and military work of the PKK, we also will be working for the freedom of the Kurdish leader."

'HDP'S SUCCESS OVERTHREW THE AKP POLICIES'

Noting that the HDP's success has overthrown the monist policies of the HDP, Shamon said AKP must see now that Kurdish question cannot be resolved through military methods. He added that military and political pressure on AKP will enable the achievement of a resolution.
