KURDISTAN
The Turkish army continues its attacks against guerrilla areas in northern Iraq despite a ceasefire declared by the PKK following Abdullah Öcalan's call for peace and democratic society.
The occupying Turkish army bombed the guerrilla areas 691 times. As guerrillas in the defense position responded to the attacks, one soldier was killed and two others injured.
Neutralizing NATO's second-largest army at the gates of the tunnels for three years, heroes like Gabar Botan, Xebat Tîrêj, Şervan Guerrilla, Çiyager Dîcle, Erdal Reşo and Munzur Serhed added a new book to the history of Kurdish resistance.
The guerrillas Gabar, Şervan and Xebat, who put up great resistance in the Girê Fm war tunnels, became the heroes of a three-year epic.
