March from Adıyaman to Amara for freedom for Öcalan

Another march has started from Adıyaman to the birth place of the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, while the march from Urfa continues under the slogan “Freedom for Öcalan”.

Another march has started from Adıyaman to the birth place of the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, while the march from Urfa continues under the slogan “Freedom for Öcalan”. Hundreds of people are marching from two directions to Amara demanding the freedom of the Kurdish Leader.

The demonstrators marching from Urfa to Amara had a rest break in the Aligör neighbourhood of Suruç last night, and started to march early in the morning despite the wet weather. The marchers are expected to reach the village of Almaşar near Birecik, where they will spend the night.

In the meantime, another march from Adıyaman on the initiative of the HDP, DBP and KJA branches has started after hundreds of people gathered in front of the DBP building. The marchers said they will walk to Amara to demand freedom for the Kurdish Leader Öcalan, under the slogan “Enough is enough, Freedom for Öcalan”.

The marchers from Adıyaman are expected to reach Halfeti on 3 April to join the celebrations of the birthday of the Kurdish Leader and then will join the march on 4 April from Halfeti to Amara.

A march from a third direction is to be held from Antep. They are expected to join the marchers from Urfa on 3 April near Birecik.
