‘South Kurdistan National Kurdish Women's Union Platform’ holds workshop in Sulaymaniyah

Workshop by the ‘South Kurdistan National Kurdish Women's Union Platform’ in Sulaymaniyah called for women to unite for freedom.

A workshop was organized by the ‘South Kurdistan National Kurdish Women's Union Platform’ in the city of Sulaymaniyah in South Kurdistan. The event, attended by a large number of women, concluded with the decision to announce the platform's founding declaration to the public.

The workshop began with a minute of silence in memory of all martyrs. Şeyda Meruf then delivered the opening speech and read the platform's message. The platform's activity report, presented by Sara Reza, included assessments of the global system and the nation-state system that is being reshaped in the Middle East.

The workshop council, consisting of Şîrîn Teha, Runak Mecîd, and Gulistan Seîd, conveyed the platform's fundamental objectives. The workshop addressed issues such as women's problems, the Kurdish nation, women's unity, overcoming existing obstacles, and the unity of the Kurdish people.

Participants presented their views and recommendations on the political situation in South Kurdistan and the changes in the region. They emphasized that women have paid a heavy price during the transformations in the Middle East, and called for women to unite for freedom.

In addition, the peace and democratic society process initiated at the call of Abdullah Öcalan was discussed by the participants.

Following the evaluations and discussions, the workshop came to an end. As a result, it was decided to announce the establishment of the “South Kurdistan National Kurdish Women's Union Platform” to the public with a final declaration.
