The Rojava Democratic Youth Union has organised an event to celebrate the birthday of Kurdish Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Kobanê. Large numbers of youths joined the celebration at the stadium in Kobanê, chanting slogans demanding the freedom of Öcalan.

The celebration started with a minute’s silence for those who have fallen in the liberation struggle. Rojgiran Fedekar, from the Rojava Democratic Youth Union, made a speech celebrating the birthday of Öcalan on behalf of the youth of Kobanê and the Kurdish people. Fedekar called on all the youth to take part in the revolutionary process in Rojava.

The celebration ended with the performance of the Kurdish traditional folk dance, halay, and music performances.
