TUHAD-FED is preparing to organise a celebration on 3 April in the Halfeti district of Urfa on the occasion of the 66th birthday of the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan and a march on 4 April to Amara village where he was born. The march is to demand freedom for Abdullah Öcalan and is expected to take place with mass participation, while the people in Urfa and its districts are preparing to host the people coming from other cities to join the march.

DBP Urfa branch co-chair İsmail Kaplan gave information about the preparations and said a march will start on 31 March at 09:00 at Balıklıgöl to Amara village under the slogan: “Enough is enough, Freedom for Öcalan”.

Kaplan said the birthday of the Kurdish People’s Leader will be celebrated with great enthusiasm as it has been done in Urfa each year and added that they expect mass participation from all four parts of Kurdistan. Kaplan said the march to be started in Urfa is planned to reach Halfeti on 3 April to join the celebrations there and will continue to Amara on 4 April together with the people of Halfeti.
