A delegation consisting of HDP Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, Amed MP Leyla Zana and KNK (Kurdistan National Congress) Co-president Nilüfer Koç, who went to Hewler yesterday, has conveyed PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's letter to PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) leader Jalal Talabani.
Following a meeting with Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nêchîrvan Barzani earlier today, the delegation arrived in Sulaymaniyah where they delivered the Kurdish leader's letter to the former Iraqi President and current head of PUK, Jalal Talabani.
Speaking to Rojnews about the meeting, KNK Co-president Nilüfer Koç said that the meeting was positive and laid emphasis on the importance of a Kurdish national conference. "Mam Jalal who has made great efforts for this work was asked to strengthen the process and was conveyed the letter Abdullah Öcalan wrote to him", Koç said.
Koç noted that details of the talks will be shared with public opinion following the fulfillment of the meetings planned to take place.
Following talks in Sulaymaniyah, the delegation is expected to return to Hewler and to convey Öcalan's other letter to Kurdistan Regional Government President Massoud Barzani.
