The inhabitants of the village of Roboski in the Uludere district of Şırnak said the repression of the Turkish soldiers and the military activity around the village is such that they decided to move to the Shirit high pasture to protect themselves and to have a new life.

Hundreds of villagers are moving to the Shirit high pasture 8km away from the village, taking all their belongings with them. A villager, Hasim Encu, said the Turkish state left no possibility of sustaining their life in the village and that Abdullah Baysan, who is now Şırnak 23rd Gendarme Border Commander and who was the Gulyazı commander during the massacre of 34 civilians by airstrikes, is preparing new massacres in the village. “As Abdullah pasha is planning to commit new massacres on us, we decided to leave the village to build a new life”, said Encu, adding that they will continue to stay in Shirit for as long as the repression of the soldiers continues.

In the meantime, it has been reported that Turkish soldiers who set up a military post on the Shirit high pasture, but withdrew two days ago have been emplaced again on the upper lands of the plateau after learning that the villagers are moving in that direction.
