YPG/YPJ forces that have liberated the villages of Zaret and Zormixar on the banks of the Euphrates west of Kobanê have begun to monitor the town of Jarablus on the other side of the river, which ISIS gangs have turned into a base. Şıvan Feraşin, one of the commanders of the YPG/YPJ forces that are continuing to liberate villages following the liberation of Kobanê city, said: "We intend to liberate and defend all the areas where the Kurds, Arabs, Armenians and Syriacs lived.”
After liberating almost all the villages ISIS occupied after gang attacks began on 15 September, YPG/YPJ forces have now gone beyond the pre-assault defence line.
YPG/YPJ forces have reached the Euphrates and are monitoring Jarablus
YPG/YPJ forces liberated the villages of Zaret and Zormixar, situated on hills overlooking the river Euphrates, two days ago and have now stepped up efforts to dislodge the gangs from the village of Şêxler.
'YPG/YPJ are the protectors of the people'
YPG commander Şivan Feraşin said YPG/YPJ fighters did not only protect the Kurdish people, but were also waging a struggle for all the peoples of Syria.
‘We will take revenge for our comrades’
Feraşin added that they had taken back the territory plundered by ISIS, saying: "Now we will launch operations to take revenge for our fallen comrades.” He added that it was their binding duty to liberate all the areas in which the Kurds, Arabs, Armenians and Syriacs had lived together.
