Military operation launched in Bitlis countryside

The Turkish army has launched a new operation in rural areas of Bitlis province. Several highlands have been cordoned off and residents are subjected to searches.

On Sunday, the Turkish army launched a large-scale military operation in the rural areas of the Hizan and Tatvan districts of Bitlis province.

According to local sources, the highlands around the village of Şên (Aladana) in Hizan have been cordoned off. Access to the affected areas is currently prohibited. Civilians are said to be subjected to systematic searches at checkpoints.

The operation is concentrated in the areas of Lerzek, Mihîr, Birîsor, and Karasu, which belong to the Şên village. Several explosions have been reported in the region during the operation. At the same time, eyewitnesses report an increased military presence and intense troop movements. The authorities have not yet provided any official information about the operation.
