YBŞ and YPJ-Shengal fighters have rescued two Êzîdî girls from ISIS captivity during the Operation to Liberate Shengal.
In the evening of November 13 when Shengal town centre was liberated by Kurdish forces, the two young girls from the Êzîdî community were rescued in an area near Tıl Kasap asayish (public security) point after captivity in the hands of ISIS gangs since 3 August, 2014.
'WE WOKE UP EVERY DAY WITH FEAR'
Sahir Sileyman (17) from Sıbe Şex Xıdır village said she herself and her family members were abducted by ISIS gangs when they first attacked Shengal, telling the followings;
"When ISIS attacked Shengal on 3 August 2014, me and my family wanted to flee by a tractor. ISIS gangs stopped us and threatened to kill if we didn't get off. They later took us captive. Me and 6 Êzîdî girls were taken to Bahac. We seven girls stayed alone in a single room for three days after which they took us to Rambosi and locked us up somewhere we didn't know. They were committing violence against us and forcing us to convert to Islam. We were waking up every day with a fear and concern as to when we were going to die."
Sahir Sileyman thanked the YBŞ and YPJ-Shengal forces, adding that many more Êzîdî girls and civilians are still waiting to be rescued.
'ÊZÎDÎ GIRLS WAITING TO BE RESCUED'
Sahir Sileyman's cousin Suzan Xıdır (15) who stayed together with her under ISIS captivity for one year and three months told that she was abducted by ISIS while trying to reach Mount Shengal after the genocide perpetrated by the gangs when they first attacked the Êzîdî town on 3 August last year.
"Me and my family took the road to Mount Shengal when the attacks began. The gangs blocked and detained us before reaching the mountain. They later took us to Bahac where we were held in a room for 3-4 days. After that, they took 7 of us to Shengal's Rambosi village. We were later taken to many other places. We suffered violence and pressure as they forced us to convert to Islam. We died and returned to life every day we remained in captivity. We spent all the time with a fear of death. As we later managed to escape, we got somewhere near the asayish point of Til Kasap village. The gangs were very close to that area. Later came the combatants of YBŞ and YPJ-Shengal and rescued us. I am grateful to them, and want all the other Êzîdî girls in ISIS captivity to be rescued."
