Women's hospital opened in Medya Defense Zones

A women's hospital has been opened in Medya Defense Zones under the control of Kurdish guerrillas.

A women's hospital has been opened in Medya Defense Zones under the control of Kurdish guerrillas.

The opening ceremony was attended by General Presidency Council Member Fatma Adır, Koma Jinen Kurdistan (KJK) Coordination Member Sakine Karakoçan, Koma Civaken Kurdistan (KCK) Health Committee Member Nujin Herekol and a number of female guerrillas.

The hospital, which is a first in Medya Defense Zones, was named after YJA Star guerrilla Martyr Dr. Amara who lost her life in Xakurke in 2012. The hospital will deal with the health problems of both female guerrillas and the local inhabitants living in the region.

The opening which began with one minute's silence continued with events organized by female guerrillas of the Kurdish freedom movement, in accompany with slogans “Jin Jiyan Azadi” [Women, Life, Freedom], “Biji Serok APO” [Long Live Leader Apo].
