The Committee of Women Jurists met in the western city of Qamishlo to discuss the conditions of women and how to increase their participation, earlier this week.

The meeting discussed ways to help women to play a prominent role in society. It was decided at the meeting to hold regular encounters and seminars on women's rights and "democratic family, morals and the rights and role of women in politics and democratic society" in order to increase awareness within the community. The Committee of Women Jurists will also prepare publications to be distributed among the people.
