European Kurdish Women's Movement TJKE has announced its program for the 4th International Action of the World March of Women.
Recalling that the 4th Action of the WMW has started in Kurdistan, TJKE said the Kurdish women who have played an important role in this year’s action should continue providing the greatest contribution.
The statement of the TJKE recalled that the 4th International Action of the WMW has started on 6 March in Nusaybin, making the Kurdish women one of the most important actors of this year’s action. TJKE said it finds it very important to be part of this global movement comprising of thousands of women from 60 countries and that has become the most extensive and rooted solidarity network of the women struggling against the patriarchal and colonialist system. TJKE stressed that the violence, economic exploitation and sexist attitudes suffered by women in the family and/or because of state policies are not limited to one territory on the world but rather originate from the patriarchy.
TJKE said its members will actively take part in the actions of the WMW in Europe, informing that they will first join the feminist bicycle tour on 29 April in Vienna before taking part in the action on 12 May in Milan against the “masculinisation of the city” and will protest at the economic policies of the transnational companies that first hit the women on 17 May in Zug, Switzerland.
European Kurdish Women's Movement informed that they will actively participate in all the actions that will take place in Geneva on 23-25 May, in Nantes, France on 5-7 June in and in Paris on 17-23, adding that they will also ensure active participation in the street actions to be held in Namur on 4-5 July, Belgium and in Cologne, Germany on 8 July.
TJKE said it encourages Kurdish women to participate the feminist summer camp to be organised in Poland between 30 July-7 August and that it will further join the actions to be held in Bologna and Torino in Italy in September.
The statement said Kurdish women will also be present in the actions in Marseille to meet world women between 18-21 September and hold mass participation in the final action to take place in Portugal on 17 October to protest neoliberal policies.
TJKE ended its statement with a call for strong and mass participation in all the actions to take place in the framework of the 4th Action of the World March of Women.
