TJK-E announced that a march will be staged in the German city of Bielefeld on July 30 to mark the attack on Shengal on August 3, 2014.
The Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E) released a statement marking the second anniversary of the aggression on Kurdistan land starting from Shengal as a result of the development of chaos and crisis as a policy in the Middle East and emergence of ISIS in line with the strategy of restructuring the Middle East.
TJK-E remarked that ISIS attacked Shengal due to its strategic location and for it housed the Kurdish Êzîdî community, the most ancient folk in Mesopotamia.
Describing the genocides suffered by Êzîdî Kurds throughout their history as a decree developed by central powers in a deliberate and planned manner, TJK-E pointed out that the goal of this aggression was to eradicate the role played by the most ancient folk of the Middle East in the development of civilization. The statement recalled that the 73rd decree against the Êzîdî community took place on August 3, 2014 when ISIS invaded Shengal, massacred thousands and forced thousands of others to migration, while scores of others were kidnapped and sold in slave markets.
TJK-E also recalled that numerous women and children killed themselves to not be captured by ISIS gangs, noting that many women from the Êzîdî community are still held captive by the gangs despite two years having passed by since, with the aftermath of many still unknown after their sale in markets.
TJK-E said this femicide has been a reason for organised Kurdish women to give a stronger struggle, and vowed to continue their works, campaigns and projects in this regard.
The statement also recalled that it was the YPG-YPJ, HPG and YJA-STAR forces to protect the Êzîdî people after KDP kind of handed them over to the ISIS.
TJK-E described the declaration of democratic autonomy in Shengal after the genocide as the biggest response given by an organised folk to the mindset that perpetrated this mass killing.
"The organisation of self-defense forces fighting ISIS in Shengal develops a line of resistance that plays a historic role in response to the policies of massacre pursued against the Kurdish people."
TJK-E announced that a march organised by Êzîdî Women's Assembly will take place in the German city of Bielefeld on July 30, and called upon all the assemblies, communes and initiatives to ensure strong participation in the march to manifest reaction against the femicide in the person of Kurdish Êzîdî women.
