Two photos of AKP’s war machine displaying the body of a slain woman began to circulate in social media and reminded the display of Ekin Wan’s body in Varto. In the photos, there are marks of torture on the woman’s breasts and thighs.

AKP’s war machine, that has been carrying out massacres and burning wounded civilians with petroleum, continues to torture the bodies of women it has killed. In two photos shot in Cizre, a slain woman whose clothes were removed lies on the street. Turkish soldiers added another stain to the history of humanity and shared the photo of the woman they had killed and tortured; reminiscent of the tortures that targeted women guerrillas in the 90s. In the first photo, there are marks of torture on the woman’s breasts, and in the second photo similar torture marks can be seen on the woman’s thighs.

Recently, the body of YJA Star guerrilla Kevser Eltürk (Ekin Wan) was stripped and displayed in Varto. Women had launched a series of protests after this event and chanted the slogans of ‘Ekin Wan is the naked state of our resistance’ and ‘Women put on resistance as clothing in the face of state cruelty.’
