The Association of Women Students from Kurdistan (JXK) is running a postcard campaign on International Women's Day for women detained in Turkish prisons for political reasons. For two weeks now, the activists have been promoting their solidarity campaign with information tables at events and on the streets.
"Women in political prison cannot take to the streets with us on March 8. We did not and will not forget them and would like to send them greetings. To those who cannot be with us, we want to send greetings through words and pictures. Let us express together on the postcards what unites us. Let us give each other strength. Every postcard that reaches the prisoners from us stands for the connection we have with them and the solidarity we feel with each other," an activist explained about the action.
On Sunday, JXK will be present with its postcards at the strike cafés in Frankfurt am Main, among other places.
