Participants will start the march from Uppsala at 13:00 on September 9 and they will reach Stockholm on September 10 afternoon when they will join the 20th Scandinavian Kurdish Cultural Festival in Solna city.
The Long March is organised by Sara Kurdish Women's Association in Sweden, Swedish KJAR, Örebro Kurdish Women's Initiative, Borlänge Kurdish Women's Initiative, Karlstad KJAR Committee, Kurdish Women for Integration in Göteborg, Amara Kurdish Women's Assembly, Stockholm KJAR Committee, Norwegian Kurdish Women's Initiative, Danish Seve Women's Assembly, Gävle Warşin Women's Commune, Kurdish Mothers in Sweden, Uppsala Women's Initiative, and Kurdish Mothers in Karlstad.
A joint statement released on behalf of the women's organisations calls attention to importance Kurdish people and women attach to their Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and demands an immediate end to the isolation imposed on him by the Turkish state.
Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Sweden also released a statement calling on all Kurds and their friends in Sweden to ensure strong participation in the 20th Scandinavian Kurdish Cultural Festival which will take place in Solna city of Stockholm on September 10, Saturday.
The festival in Solnahallen will begin at 17:00 in the afternoon and HDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş will also participate in the festival as a speaker.
