The Congress of Free Women (KJA, formerly DÖKH) has called on women to participate in the celebration in Amara of the birthday of the Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Issuing a written statement regarding the birthday of Abdullah Öcalan, KJA said the Kurdish Leader Öcalan has taken his place amongst the wise people in history as he has been the leader of the resistance of the Kurdish people in recreating themselves in the face of extinction.
The statement of the KJA emphasised the views of Öcalan that take the liberation of women as the basis of the liberation of society, creating hope for the women’s revolution. The statement further recalled Öcalan’s description of himself as a “searcher for a lost country and a lost identity”, adding that the paradigm of Öcalan today sheds light on the Middle East and the world.
The statement called on all women to participate in celebrations of the birthday of the Kurdish Leader to be held on 4 April in Amara, and to turn the day into a day of freedom of women and the Kurdish Leader.
