Heyva Sor a Kurd opens oncology hospital in Qamishlo

Heyva Sor a Kurd opened an oncology hospital in Qamishlo that will provide free service to patients.

Heyva Sor a Kurd opened the first oncology hospital in Northern and Eastern Syria as a result of its long work in the region. The department, where cancer patients will be treated, and a burn unit will be working soon in the Oncology Hospital, which was opened in the Enteriyêya District of Qamishlo.

Members of the Martyrs' Families Council, representatives of civil society organizations, as well as many people attended the opening of the hospital.

Speaking at the opening of the hospital, Heyva Sor a Kurd co-chair Dilgeş Isa said: "We have been working for many years to open this hospital. We completed the oncology department first, within our means. Cancer patients will be able to receive free treatment at the hospital. Our work continues and in the first place we are planning to finish the thalassemia and the burn units.

The opening ribbon was cut by Şewafe Mihemed, the mother of martyrs Egîd, Hogir and Dijwar. Guests were taken around the hospital.

According to the information provided by Heyva Sor a Kurd, the hospital has the most advanced equipment in the world. There is an oxygen center, water purification center and appropriate medical equipment.

The opening of this hospital is very important for the region. Since there was no such hospital in Northern and Eastern Syria, patients had to go to Damascus, Aleppo and South Kurdistan. Therefore, citizens had to spend a large amount of money for treatment.
