Youth organizations hold conference in Basel

Youth organizations TCŞ and TekoJIN held a conference in Basel, within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question" initiative.

Journalist Adar Gulan and writer Sefkan Kobanê attended the conference organized by Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Ciwan ên Têkoşer (TekoJIN) in Basel.

The conference was held at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (CDK-BL) and was titled "Youth and Leadership" and "How to Live".

The conference started with a minute’s silence in memory of the Kurdistan Freedom Martyrs.

TCŞ activist Leyla Aktaş talked about the responsibilities of Kurdish young people during this difficult process and said: "All the young people here know that we did not leave Kurdistan willingly. Young people left their dreams and families and live in camps here. None of us could study in our own mother tongue in our country."

Adar Gulan, who wanted young people to ask the questions "Who are we, and where did we come from?", said: "We are disconnected from our own land, and what kind of personality do we have been away from our own land? We do not only experience immigration physically. There are changes in our personality. We are moving away from our own reality. Leader Apo always says, ‘I never betrayed my childhood dreams.’"

Sefkan Kobanê spoke about the Imrali isolation and the campaign "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan"

Stating that Öcalan started the struggle at a very young age and with faith, Kobanê said: "The leader started this struggle with curiosity, but did not remain limited to words. It fulfilled its requirements in practice. This is what he said to Haki Karer, ‘We will fight for a free country’."
