Demo in front of the Embassy of Belgium in London denounces police operation against Kurdish press

Kurds gathered in front of the Embassy of Belgium in London to protest the raids against Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV.

Following the call of the Kurdish People's Assembly, a large number of people gathered in front of the Embassy of Belgium in London to protest the attacks and raids by the Belgian police against the Kurdish press.

During the demonstration where banners and banners protesting the attacks on the Kurdish press were displayed, slogans such as "Stop supporting Erdoğan, shame on you", "Terrorist Erdoğan", "Down with fascism", "Kurdish press cannot be silenced" were frequently chanted.

Making a statement here, Ercan Akbal from the Kurdish People's Assembly strongly condemned the midnight raid and attack on the studios of Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV, which are the eyes and voice of the Kurdish people.

Akbal said, "We condemn the raid and blockade against Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV, the voice of the Kurdish people, carried out in the middle of Europe by the Belgian state, which talks about democracy and human rights and freedoms. They should immediately give up this anti-democratic attitude and stop intimidating Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV, which are watched by the Kurds and millions of people."

Ercan Akbal added, "Our people will claim their voice and will. Your support for ISIS supporter Erdoğan is shameful and a black stain. Your attitude towards the Kurdish people is immoral and inhuman."

A delegation from the Kurdish People's Assembly met with the Embassy officials and stated that Belgium should not be a partner in the unlawful attitude against the Kurds and that the oppression of the Kurds should end.

The protest ended with applause and slogans.
