Young people in Tirbespiyê protect their villages together with security forces

In order to support the work of the Internal Security Forces, 150 young people from the villages of Tirbespiyê voluntarily joined the ‘Self-Defence’ groups.

Citizens living in the southern villages of Tirbespiyê formed ‘Self-Defence Groups’ to support the Internal Security Forces and the Social Defence Forces (HPC). Young people in the villages volunteered to participate in ‘Self-Defence’ activities.

After the robberies and bombardments in Tirbespiyê, villagers took the initiative and formed ‘Self-Defence Groups’.

Self-defence groups were formed 15 days ago in coordination with the Internal Security Forces. There are 5 people in each group protecting 30 villages. Group members protect the villages by their own means in the evenings. The group members communicate with each other over the internet and work in coordination with the Internal Security Forces.

A young man named Comerd Gurî from the village of Sîhe told ANHA: “Together with the Internal Security Forces, we protect our villages every day. This is everyone's duty. We are ready to intervene anytime there is a suspicious incident.”
