Mother of slain protester Nîka Shakremî detained in Iran

The mother of Nîka Shakremî, who was murdered during the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ protests in Iran, was detained.

The sister of Nîka Shakremî, who was murdered during the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ (Woman, Life, Freedom) protests, announced that her mother Nesrin Shakremî was detained by Iranian forces in Tehran.

Nîka Ayda Shakremî’s sister reported that they have not learned about the charges against her mother and the reason for her detention so far.

Nesrin Shakremî announced that, according to medical documents, her daughter died as a result of a blow to the head.

Also in April, BBC World reported that it had accessed a confidential document from Iran, according to which Nika Shakremî was raped and then killed by security forces after being detained.
