Journalist Aziz Oruç was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison.
The 10th hearing of the case opened in Diyarbakır 9th Assize Court in 2017 against journalist Aziz Oruç was held in Amed.
Oruç has been jailed with the allegation of "making propaganda for an illegal organization" on the grounds of social media posts he published. Journalist Oruç attended the hearing through the video conferencing system SEGBIS from Patnos L Type Prison, where he is detained.
The prosecution demanded a prison sentence ranging from 10 months to 5 years, pursuant to Article 7/2 of the TMK.
The court board sentenced journalist Aziz Oruç to 2 years and 1 month imprisonment on charges of "making propaganda for an illegal organisation".
