Former Demokratik Modernite magazine editor detained

Former editor of the trimonthly magazine Demokratik Modernite, Servet Öner, was taken into custody in Istanbul by police.

According to the information received, former editor of the trimonthly magazine Demokratik Modernite, Servet Öner, was taken into custody in Istanbul by police.

She was taken to Taksim Police Station but the reason of her being taken into custody was not disclosed.

Turkey, has been turned by the AKP into the biggest prison of journalistsin the world. 

According to the latest balance sheet of the Solidarity Platform with Imprisoned Journalists (TGDP) dated 21 September, 217 journalists are currently in Turkish prisons.
