Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and YPG and YPJ forces had announced with the Deir ez-Zor Military Council statement that they launched the Operation Cizire Storm on September 9. This operation was launched to liberate the east of the Euphrates and the east of Deir ez-Zor from ISIS. The operation to liberate Deir ez-Zor from ISIS after Raqqa has given hope to all women. The YPJ fighters are on the frontlines for the women of Deir ez-Zor and they talked about what this operation means for them.

“WE WILL END THE PEOPLE’S PAIN”

Koçerîn Tolhildan said they are going to avenge all women with this operation and added: “We are going through very different emotions. Our morale is very high. With this operation, we will end the women’s and the people’s pain here. Like we liberated the women of Raqqa, we will liberate the women of Deir ez-Zor. Like the women in Rojava and Shengal were saved from the massacre, all Syrian women will be saved and liberated.”

“WE ARE FIGHTING FOR ALL PEOPLES”

Mizgîn Botan stressed that they are not discriminating in liberating the peoples there, whatever their ethnic identity may be, and said: “The operation we have launched continues with great enthusiasm and morale. We are all in this operation with all our heart. Kurds, Arabs, Êzidîs, whatever identity the people have, we are fighting for their freedom. We will not be liberated until every single woman is rescued.”

Bêrîtan Warşîn stated that their belief that they will liberate all Syrian women is strong and continued: “We will drive all the terrorist forces out of these lands along with ISIS gangs. I want to call on the people of Deir ez-Zor and especially the women: They should help the YPJ and the Deir ez-Zor Military Council so they can achieve their freedom very soon.”
