In a statement on 8 March International Women's Day, YJŞ General Command said: "We are the promise of vengeance of Êzidî women and all world women.”

Shengal Women's Resistance Units-YJŞ General Command released a statement marking 8 March International Women's Day.

The full statement by YJŞ General Command is as follows;

"8 March is the day to raise the resistance against the ruling and male-dominant mentality. We are conscious of the ruling that savagely targets women, and of the inhuman attacks launched by mainly ISIS and their collaborators against the Êzidî women today. 8 March is the spirit of women that never bow to the ruling men. 8 March is the symbol of world women's resistance and struggle, from Rosa Luxemburg and Clara Zetkin to Saras and Berivans today.

It was women to suffer the most from the massacre perpetrated in Shengal on 3 August 2014, it was women to be sold and murdered in markets. At the same time, women are being a victim of the ruling mentality. The latest attack in Khanasor do clearly prove this reality.

In the reality of existence, the stance of women, them shielding their bodies against the attacks of betrayal, their stance against betrayal, their commitment to their land and their resistance have been through a major change and transformation with the philosophy of Leader Apo, and the labour of martyrs.

During the Khanasor resistance against betrayal, our comrade Tekoşin Serhed shielded her body and manifested the commitment of women's will on the path of resistance and freedom with the spirit of self-sacrifice inherited from Berivans.

We must resist and fight further to this end. We as YJŞ are the promise of vengeance of Êzidî women and all world women. On the basis of Leader Apo's free life and free women philosophy, we deepen ourselves, and we fight to achieve the goal of a free individual with this norm.

In the person of our comrades Martyr Armanc, Martyr Berivan, Martyr Jiyanda, Martyr Vinar and Martyr Tekoşin, we congratulate 8 March to leader Apo and to all resisting and fighting women, and we promise to fulfill our mission in this regard."
