Kurdish women living in Switzerland are preparing to take to the streets to protest the attacks by the Turkish state.
The Kurdish Women’s Union in Switzerland (YJK-S) has called on women, Kurds, and their allies to join a march that will be held in Zurich on January 25.
In a statement, the YJK-S said: "Those who could not accept the Kobane Women’s Revolution, achieved in November 2014, are now exploiting the war to attack the achievements of the Kurds in North and East Syria."
The statement highlighted that the Turkish state and its proxies, unable to break the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Women's Protection Units (YPJ), and People's Protection Units (YPG), are now relentlessly bombing Kurdish regions with drones to alter the demographic structure of Syria.
The statement continued: "As the Kurdish Women’s Union in Switzerland, we will protect the achievements we gained through the Kobanê Revolution and intensify our struggle. We do not accept the attacks and massacres perpetrated by the fascist Turkish state and its proxies in Rojava. Our stance against these actions is clear. As women, we stand in solidarity with the spirit of the Kobanê Revolution every day, embracing Tishrin, Qamishlo, and all of Rojava. For every woman you have killed, we are here. With louder voices and growing numbers, we will flood the streets every day.
On Saturday, 25 January, at 2:00 PM, we, the women, will gather at Zurich’s Helvetiaplatz in support of Rojava and Kobanê."
