On the 12th anniversary of the Paris massacre, the YJA Star Central Headquarters Command issued a statement vowing to continue the struggle of martyrs Sara, Rojbîn and Ronahî.
On January 9, 2013, three Kurdish revolutionary women, Sara (Sakine Cansız), Rojbîn (Fidan Doğan), and Ronahî (Leyla Şaylemez) were murdered by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) in Paris. On the 12th anniversary of the Paris massacre, YJA Star’s Central Headquarters Command released a written statement.
The statement commemorated all revolutionary martyrs and added: "In 2013, three revolutionary women were assassinated in the capital of France, as a result of an international conspiracy orchestrated by MIT. For the past 12 years, the French state’s failure to hold the perpetrators accountable, and its collaborative role, has been patent. This collaboration by the French state led to the occurrence of the second Paris massacre. If the French state does not want to be deemed guilty in history, it must transparently illuminate these massacres and punish the perpetrators."
The statement continued: "Targeting three revolutionary women in the heart of Paris was no coincidence but the result of a calculated conspiracy. Comrade Sakine Cansız, one of the founding members of the Kurdish Freedom Movement, dedicated her life to the struggle inspired by Leader Öcalan’s philosophy. Comrade Sara was not only recognized by Kurdish women but was also revered globally as a revolutionary and a pioneer in the women’s liberation struggle. In 2018, a revolutionary operation conducted in Sakine Cansız’s name uncovered, with documented evidence, the motives of the perpetrators and the conspiracy behind the assassination."
The statement underlined that "this massacre was carried out as part of an international conspiracy orchestrated through collaboration between the Turkish MIT and international forces. It was designed to deliver a significant blow to the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the Kurdish women’s revolutionary movement, intensify the isolation of the Leader, and specifically target leading women."
The independent women's resistance was targeted
The statement emphasized that the struggle of Sara, Ronahî, and Rojbîn has served as an inspiration for women around the world, and added: "Heval Sara, who was one of the founders of the PKK, has today become a source of inspiration for all women’s resistance. Heval Sara was among the first cadres to believe in the ideas of our Leader and unconditionally pledge allegiance to them. She led the way in a struggle filled with difficulties, actively participating in the founding of the PKK, the organization of the first women’s party, YJWK, and the formation of the first women’s army, YJA Star. The oppression and resistance she endured in Amed Prison has been the essence of the struggle for honor. Alongside Heval Sara, Ronahî and Rojbîn were two great revolutionaries who walked the path of the PKK. The fascist attacks against the women’s liberation struggle continued with the assassination of Sêvê, Pakize, and Fatma in Silopi, on the third anniversary of the Paris massacre."
The statement said: "Similarly, on the 9th anniversary of the Paris massacre, the assassinations of Evîn Goyî and two comrades showed that the conspiracy was still ongoing. As YJA-Star, we state once again that this conspiracy will never succeed. The year 2025 will be the year of victory, marked by the resistance epics of women such as Berîtan Nurhaq Çiya, Berwar Dêrsîm, Axîn Gabar, and Sara Tolhildanan in the Kurdistan mountains. Sara’s resistance will continue to serve as an example for the Kurdish, Arab, and the entire Middle East. As YJA-Star, we once again declare our commitment to Sara’s revolutionary women’s line, and we pledge to crown our freedom struggle with victory."
