YJŞ Commander: We are in Raqqa to avenge Êzidî women

YJŞ Commander Deniz Şengal stated that they are participating in the operation to liberate Raqqa to save Êzidî women from ISIS gangs.

YJŞ (Shengal Women's Units) fighters are participating in the operation to liberate Raqqa to avenge the Êzidî women enslaved by ISIS gangs.

Partaking in the operation to liberate Raqqa, YJŞ Commander Deniz Şengal spoke to ANHA news agency.

Şengal explained their motivation for joining the operation as: “ISIS gangs enslaved over 5000 Êzidî women and brought them all to Raqqa. So, it is our duty to save Êzidî women from ISIS gangs and avenge the women sold as slaves in Mosul and Raqqa.”

“Whatever the price may be for the emancipation of Êzidî women is, we are ready to pay it. We will fight until we save all enslaved Êzidî women are safe from ISIS gangs,” said Deniz Şengal and added the following on the importance of ISIS’ defeat in Raqqa:

“Raqqa is a significant place for ISIS. This is the center of the attacks they carry out on Shengal, Rojava and the rest of Syria. If ISIS is stopped in Raqqa, they will be stopped everywhere.”

YJŞ Commander Deniz Şengal concluded her words with: “We are not only fighting to save Êzidî women from ISIS, but for all the women of the Middle East and the world.”
