An international women’s delegation promoted by UIKI and CENI will try to meet HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Güven, on hunger strike for 54 days.
CENI (the Office of Kurdish Women for Peace) and UIKI has made an appeal to women around the world to join the women delegation being organised to visit HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Güven, on hunger strike for 54 days.
The delegation is scheduled from 11 to 14 January and the appeal asks women “all over the world to join the delegation that aimed to visiting Leyla Güven in prison to check her health and express our solidarity to her resistance.”
The appeal recalls that “HDP Hakkari MP, Leyla Güven has gone on hunger strike on 7 November to demand the end of the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.”
Leyla Güven is in Amed prison and has once again been denied freedom. On 27 November her hunger strike was joined by dozens of PKK and PAJK prisoners in jails in Turkey and Kurdistan.
