Women gathered in the village of Avşîn village in Elegez (Armenia) and held a press conference to mark 25 November.
Women were carrying photographs of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the martyr Hevrîn Xelef as well as flags of PAJK flags. The statement was read by Çiğçek Rizgar, a member of the Union of Free Women of Armenia (YJA).
Rizgar said: "We have achieved great gains under the leadership of women, especially in Rojava, by resisting the patriarchal system, and standing against the anti-misogynist fascist regimes such as the AKP-MHP."
Rizgar added: "Thse systems see the gains of women as a threat to their power. Therefore, they attack women organized structure in every field. These attacks will never make us retreat from our struggle. We, together, must act with the awareness that the freedom of societies will depend on our struggle. We have to protect our gains and fight in solidarity and unity."
