Solidarity actions continue with Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP for Hakkari, Leyla Güven, who is on the 33rd day of her indefinite hunger strike against the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imralı Island Prison.
Free Women’s Movement (TJA) activists and Peace Mothers in Van have started a three-day hunger strike with the motto “Leyla Güven’s demands are our demands”.
The press briefing announcing the start of the hunger strike action was attended by HDP Van provincial branch co-chair Yadişen Karabulak, DBP Van provincial branch co-chair Ayla Tarhan, HDP Van MP Bedia Özgökçe Ertan, Co-mayor of Edremit district Rojbin Çetin, TUHAY-DER administrators and DTK representatives.
Speaking here, TJA Activist Caziye Duman said the following; “We stand with Leyla Güven for peace and democracy and her demands are our demands. We women are starting a three-day hunger strike to support the resistance of Leyla Güven. We salute Güven’s action once again and reiterate that our actions will continue until Güven’s demands are met.”
