“Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” and “Biji Serok Apo” chanted women as they accompanied songs by artists and Kurdish traditional dance halay.
Women waved flags of KJK and RJAK and posters of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in an air of celebration with their traditional colors.
The event began with one minute's silence, followed by speeches by representatives of women's organisations.
Speaking here, Qandil Municipality Co-mayor Emine Mıhemed congratulated March 8 for the Kurdish women and world women.
A following statement by RJAK (Kurdistan Free Women's Movement) wished a happy March 8 for all women, and called for national unity among Kurdish women.
Speaking after, Rewşen Mardin on behalf of the KJK (Kurdistan Women's Community) Coordination congratulated March 8 for the Kurdish women, for Shengal's mothers and woman fighters in the emplacements in the first place, and stressed that women should lead the national unity.
Tevgera Azadi Co-chair Şilan Şakir also spoke and put emphasis on the importance of women's unity.
Referring to the KDP attack on Shengal, Şakir said this attack targeted all the women in Southern Kurdistan and that it developed on the basis of a deal between South Kurdistan's Barzani and Turkey's Erdoğan.
The event ended with a concert by artist Deniz Deman.
