TJK-E called on the Kurdish people to contribute to be the voice of the hunger strikers and raise the resistance.

The Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E) issued a written statement in support of the hunger strike resistance against isolation calling on everyone to join the action in front of the European Parliament on Wednesday.

The statement said: “The hunger strike resistance led by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven has been joined by Nasır Yağız in Hewlêr, 14 comrades in Strasbourg, Imam Sis in Wales, Yusuf Iba in Canada, Fadile Tok in Maxmur, Hacer Yusuf, Kibriye Evren, Sebahat Tuncel, Selma Irmak and 7,000 prisoners in Kurdish and Turkish jails, and by many activists in various European cities. The activists who are carrying out this historic resistance have taken a historic responsibility to fight isolation and secure Leader Apo is granted rights to see his family and lawyers.”

The statement added: “The silence of the European government and institutions, particularly the Council of Europe and the CPT, amount to be a partner in crime. To remain silent about this resistance means in fact to accept isolation, to accept fascism. The CPT, the Council of Europe and the other European institutions should act immediately and fulfil their role.”

The TJK-E made the following call for action: “The European Kurdish Women's Movement urges all our people, especially women, to participate in the action, which will be held in front of the European Parliament every week on Wednesday, beginning on 24 April. All our people should contribute to be the voice of the hunger strikers and raise the resistance."
