TJK-E calls on women to join marches against fascism on Saturday

TJK-E called on people to join the marches planned for Saturday 22 February: "Let's unite against fascism."

The European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E) called on people to join the marches scheduled for Saturday, 22 February, against the fascist attack in Germany.

"We condemn the fascist attack that took place in Hanau", said the statement, reminding that among the victims were "our patriotic youth. We wish condolences to the families who lost their children and wish a speed recovery to the injured."

The TJK-E statement added: "First of all, it should be noted that contrary to what is being said, this is not an 'isolated attack' but the result of the racist, right-wing policies of the German state, and Europe in general, and its marginalizing, criminalizing discourse and attitudes towards immigrants."

The statement continued: "The German state has allowed these extreme fascist ideas and groups to grow and even reach parliament. The Kurds have become refugees because they are victims of fascism in their own land. Fascism and racism are not a phenomenon to be reduced to the act of an individual. They are crimes. The society's struggle against fascism is a basic legitimate right."

The European Kurdish Women's Movement added: "Once again we state our determination to fight against racist-fascist, sexist policies and practices, and we call on all left, democratic, antifascist circles, women and migrants to step up the united struggle against fascism. We call on the German state to abandon policies that fuel hatred among peoples, and pave the way for these racist attacks."

Let's join forces and attend the marches on 22 February

The statement ended by calling on "our people living in Europe, all antifascists, democrats, left circles, and especially Kurdish women, to attend the marches that will take place in many centers on Saturday, 22 February. We call on everyone to join forces."
