Mustafa Kocabıyık, a resident of Kınık district of İzmir, killed his wife Nergüzel Kocabıyık (50) and daughter Melike Kocabıyık (22).

After the killings, the perpetrator called the gendarmerie and reported what happened. Health teams who rushed to the scene determined that both women died at the scene. The bodies of the slain women were taken to the morgue of Kınık State Hospital.

It is reported that Kocabıyık was a specialist sergeant in the Turkish army for 3 years and resigned.
