Lina Berekat: Women lead the democratic nation project

Hêva Mehmud said the purpose of the occupying Turkish state was not only to occupy the Syrian territory, but also to occupy other neighbouring countries so to revive the Ottoman times.

The Syrian Women's Council organized a meeting in the city of Girê Spi to evaluate the latest political developments in the region.

Speaking at the meeting, Lina Berekat, Syrian Women’s Council member, said: “We must protect the democratic nation project implemented in Northern and Eastern.”

Berekat added: “Women have a big role in the success of this project. Women who have been deprived of their rights can now express themselves. Women have played a big role in the construction of a democratic society and have been in fact the vanguard of the democratic nation project.”
