As part of the 8 March International Working Women's Day, women gathered in Canton of Ticino, Switzerland.

The event organized by the Ticino Women's Initiative, activists commented and supported HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and all the hunger strikers demanding the end of isolation against Abdullah Ocalan.

Women’s resistance set an example

In the speeches delivered at the event, the importance of unity of women and the common struggle were emphasized.

The role of the Kurdish women in the Rojava Revolution was said to be a model for the resistance of all the women of the world.

The event continued with videos and music.

The event also called for participation in the 8 March initiatives organised by Swiss women's organizations.
