Gurbet Ektiren was arrested in 2015. She went on hunger strike on 15 January 2019 in Bakırköy Women’s Closed Prison. She was subsequently released on 8 March 2019, and she continues to fast at her home.
She has lost a lot of weight. In her message she called for those imprisoned, women, youth, the elderly in Diyarbakır, Mardin, Nusaybin and the whole of Kürdistan to take action.

Gurbet Öztürk is imprisoned in Antalya L Type Closed Prison. She went on hunger strike on 26 January 2019. In her message she said: “Our demand is legitimate, the isolation imposed on Mr. Abdullah Öcalan and the Kurdish people shall end”.
