First HPC-Jin Battalion established in Hesekê
The first HPC-Jin (Civilian Defense Forces-Women) Battalion has been established affiliated to the Kelas Neighborhood Commune of Rojava's Hesekê city.

The first HPC-Jin (Civilian Defense Forces-Women) Battalion has been established affiliated to the Kelas Neighborhood Commune of Rojava's Hesekê city.
HPC-Jin has finalized the training cycle participated by 25 women with the support of Kongreya Star. Following the military training of 5 days, the first HPC-Jin Battalion has declared its establishment in a military ceremony which was attended by Kongreya-Star members and dozens of civilians.
Speaking on behalf of HPC-Jin, Firyal Mihemed stated that the goal of the establishment of Civilian Defense Forces-Women Battalion is to support the defense forces, to defend the neighborhood and to develop a sense of popular defense.
Speaking after, Kongreya Star Member Şêrîn Oso pointed out that the concrete gains made in Rojava have been achieved thanks to the philosophy of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
HPC-Jin member Turfê Qasim said "I have joined the battalion to fulfill my duty of defense", while another HPG-Jin member Saadet Elo stated that: "Leader Apo has developed many important projects for the defense and militarization of women on the basis of women's freedom. The declaration of this battalion is a manifestation of the active role undertaken by women in Rojava."
The Battalion was named after YPJ fighter Xwînda Xabûr (Yara El-Elî) from Hesekê who had lost her life in Mebrûka town of Serêkaniyê on September 22, 2014.
