At least 51 women murdered in Turkey during pandemic

119 women have been murdered in Turkey since the beginning of the year, while 66 others died under suspicious circumstances.

Women’s Councils reported that at least 51 women have been murdered in Turkey during the pandemic period from March 11 to May 20.

In a video footage published on Wednesday, the Women’s Councils announced the names of the slain women and remembered the victims. The group vowed to continue the struggle for each one of the murdered women.

According to the ‘We Will Stop Femicide’ Platform (KCDP), 20 women were murdered in Turkey in April and 21 in May. According to the platform, 119 women have been killed since the beginning of the year, while 66 others died under suspicious circumstances.
