The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that members of ISIS cells carried out an attack on a position where members of the 25th Division, Special Tasks of the regime forces are stationed in the eastern countryside of Homs.
The attack with light and medium weapons resulted in the killing of an officer with the rank of lieutenant and two other members of the division.
SOHR noted that regime forces sent military reinforcements to the areas of the Syrian desert in preparation for the start of a combing campaign searching for ISIS cells.
