On 28 June, political parties and organizations in North and East Syria condemned the invading Turkish state's threats against the region and called on international forces to close the airspace of the region.

Kovan Kenho, secretary of the Syrian Kurdish Party of Democratic Day , said that the invading Turkish state took advantage of international issues and the world's preoccupation with the Russia-Ukraine war to divert the attention of Turkey’s society away.

Kenho pointed out that the call for the closure of the airspace by parties and political forces in North and East Syria was issued in response to the genocidal plans of Turkey against the region. He noted that Turkey is pursuing policies against the democratic nation project and the Kurdish cause in North and East Syria.

'INTERNATIONAL COALITION SHOULD STOP ISIS REVIVAL'

Kenho pointed out that the invading Turkish state is targeting all democratic projects and does not want the Kurdish problem resolved. “Turkey's crimes and threats help the resurgence of ISIS. The presence of ISIS threatens the international community in general. We want the international community to prevent ISIS from being revived,” he said.

'THEY SAVED THE WORLD'

Ebas Hisên, a member of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party's Politburo, said that the Turkish state continues its genocidal attacks to invade other parts of Syria, to eliminate the Democratic self-government project and to annex more territories to itself.

Hisên recalled that Turkey has a bloody history against the peoples of the region, especially the Kurdish people. “The Turkish state is trying to kill the civilian population after the defeat of ISIS. It is killing patriotic personalities in targeted drone attacks. It is targeting other parts of Syria and trying to invade,” he said.

Hisên remarked that the people of North and East Syria have defeated terrorism and saved the international community from huge trouble, and now the establishment of their own administration should be promoted for a bright future.

Hisên appealed to the international forces and the International Coalition, saying: “Instead of allowing the slaughter of peaceful people living in the region, close the airspace of the region to halt the invading Turkish state, and to bring the invading Turkish state to account for its support for ISIS.”
