Fifteen Kurdish teachers' union activists have been summoned to appear before Branch 109 of the Second Criminal Court in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, on charges of “disturbing public order and peace”, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported.
Accordingly, Fatemeh Zand-Karimi, Nasrin Karimi, Mokhtar Asadi, Mohammadreza Moradi, Salahaddin Haji-Mirzaei, Behzad Ghavvami, Seyyed Ghiyas Nemati, Reza Tahmasebi, Rizgar Heydari, Kourosh Ezzati Amini, Shahriyar Naderi, Aram Ebrahimi, Sadegh Kanani, Majid Karimi and Faysal Nouri were officially summoned on 1 June to attend a hearing scheduled for 9 June.
The case reportedly stems from a complaint lodged by the Sanandaj Prosecutor’s Office linked to a teachers’ protest held outside the Ministry of Education building in Sanandaj in June 2022.
