Military forces in Manbij to expand the front of resistance against Turkish invasion

“We will try to avert an aggression, yet if we come under attack, we will respond. Our response will be a brave resistance. We will expand the front of resistance and prevent a Turkish aggression,” said the Military forces in Manbij.

The General Commands of the Manbij Military Council, Jaysh al-Thuwar (Army of Revolutionaries), Al-Bab Military Council and Jabhat Akrad (Kurdish Front) made a joint statement to public opinion, stressing that their forces would be a symbol of heroism and resistance if the people were subjected to any aggression.

The statement was read by the Commander-in-Chief of the Manbij Military Council, Muhammad Mustafa “Abu Adel", in front of the Manbij Military Council headquarters in the city in the presence of the leaders of the mentioned military forces.

The joint statement by the military forces in Manbij includes the following:

"The Turkish threats against the cities of Manbij, Tal Rifat and Kobane, which began on May 23, are still continuing within the scope of Turkey’s plan aimed at completing the occupation, Turkification of Syrian cities and displacement of their residents.

In an explicit violation of the 2019 agreements, the Turkish state threatens to launch yet another aggression against the region, targeting the democratic experiment in North and East Syria and seeking to block the path to a political solution of the Syrian crisis.

The villages along the front lines have been subjected to daily Turkish bombardment since the liberation of Manbij from the abomination of ISIS terrorism, in which dozens of civilians and fighters have fallen victims, in addition to destruction of the infrastructure in general.

The Turkish threats directly affect the concentration of our forces and divert them from the war against ISIS with the international coalition forces in the region.

The Turkish occupation state takes advantage of the international inaction against its threats, which lays a humane, moral and legal responsibility on the shoulders of the international community. The Turkish-occupied territories have become a hotbed for ISIS mercenaries, as is proven by the killing of ISIS leaders in these regions.

The Syrian army strengthens its forces on the borders and front lines with qualitative weapons in coordination with the Russian side.

We will try to avert an aggression, yet if we come under attack, we will respond. Our response will be a brave resistance. We have strengthened our forces and military preparations during the past few years, and we have a great defense force now. We will expand the front of resistance and prevent a Turkish aggression. We thank the peoples and tribes of Manbij for their support for our forces.

We call on the people of North and East Syria to stand with their fighters. We also urge all political parties to put political and ideological contradictions aside and assume their national responsibilities.”
